At its inception,
Kenitra (the small bridge in Arabic) was founded in 1997 in Martigny (Valais) by:
Jalal Osfour-songwriter and guitarist of the group.
Surrounded by Yves Roulin to the rhythm guitar and Yvan Monnet on drums, the group began to repeat.
Kenitra music is in a style that his musicians like to call> ARABIAN METAL
in that it is the result of a mixture of Progressive Metal and Eastern influences that lead him through the composer's origins. The Metal East, from our point of view, is a style where the vocals are the pillars of style Kenitra. Our influences: Farid Attrach, Kaltoum Um Ibrahim Tatelsses, Georges Wasof, Dream Theater, Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth, it is clear that for many people it sounds strange but we must recognize that music to a large oriental culture. We are only enhance our origins and our ancestral melodies. There's metal in English, Spanish, and why not Arabic! What is certain is that in the Arab world there are millions of fans of Metal, Metal groups who want to make themselves known and recognized.
After a year of loyal service, Yvan Monnet part to new horizons leaving the group without drummer with a drum programmable.Les good drummers are always difficult to find as much in our latitudes, the drum work for a year and a half.
The rehears's continue Kenitra and is joined in 1999 by Emanuel Pot on drums, and Julien Dulex on bass.
Three months of intensive work later, the group carries out a model of the first 10 titles in the studio Colchicum instrumental in Monthey (Valais).
2000 flowed, the cruising speed seemed everything was reached and for the better for the group when tragedy happened.
An animal of the family of rodents attacking the electrical system caused a fire that destroyed the entire building and all equipment of the group that was in his local.
Beginning in 2001, the heavy heart, Jalal osfourE decides to go to Morocco to record violin and percussion typical oriental to refine his style. On his return to Switzerland he met the centerpiece of his group: Reda Redjati, singer East residing in Kathmandu (Nepal). They decide to set up a project a collaboration.
Midfielder 2001, Jalal Osfour moved to Bex (Vaud) where he found a room suitable for the installation of a proposed recording studio.
In this period, the manager of the group approached the owner of Mountain Studio in Montreux (Vaud). Interested in the style of Kenitra, David Richards (which we do it will not insult you submit) proposes an artistic collaboration.
Unfortunately, destiny decided otherwise. The rhythm guitarist Yves Roulin (perhaps frighten by the magnitude of events) decides to leave Kenitra, and was replaced at short notice by Raoul Goin.
In 2002 Kenitra is selected from among 30 groups across the Suisse Romande by the Recording Festival in Sion (Valais). The festival aims to support new talent by offering an audio-video, thus facilitating their access promotional (concerts, home recordings, etc.)..
And this is the first concert in Kenitra box ... Also, Kenitra takes this opportunity to give you listen to his music through the media you hold in your hands, and wish you happy to listen.

Tu as certainement remarqué que MarockMag a subi de nombreuses améliorations depuis son ouverture le 1.07.2008
